Tecnoscienza: Italian Journal of Science & Technology Studies (indexed in Scopus and ISI Web - ESCI index) is a scientific journal published biannually with the support of STS Italia and the volunteer work of a group of Italian scholars. Tecnoscienza adopts a platinum/diamond Open Access (OA) model, in which neither authors nor readers are required to pay any fees to make scientific work freely available under the Creative Commons license.

The journal is seeking volunteers to build its recently established Associate Board. All academic journals rely on the work of peer reviewers to maintain high quality scholarship. To support the work of the Editorial Board in ensuring that the journal makes timely and constructive responses to journal submissions, we are inviting STS colleagues to join the Tecnoscienza Associate Board. The Associate Board is an opportunity for individuals to become involved in the continued successful running of the journal and contribute to the international STS debate.

Associate Board members will be expected to commit themselves to reviewing at least one academic paper per year for the journal. Members are expected to return constructive comments in a timely manner (within 4 weeks), using the journal review form. Members will not be requested to attend meetings, neither online nor in person. Successful candidates will become members of the Board for three years, from January 2023 to December 2025. The members of the Associate Board will be acknowledged both in the journal issues and in the website. Membership to the Associate Board could be taken into consideration, and positively viewed, for further and more engaging collaborations with the Editorial Board of Tecnoscienza..

We are seeking to include in the Associate Board a wide variety of scholars covering a broad range of areas of methodological, theoretical and empirical expertise. We expect candidates to possess a PhD in STS or any related social science area and haveexperience of peer reviewing for social science journals. We also welcome early stage researchers (in a late stage of their PhD or within three years of their PhD) looking to develop their peer review experience. We encourage colleagues who self-identify as ESR (please select “Early stage researcher” in the application form – link below) to apply, as these applications will be considered separately and we will offer some additional support and mentoring for the role. Candidates do not need an academic affiliation to be eligible. Colleagues working as independent researchers, between academic posts or outside of the academic context are welcome to apply (please clarify this in the application form).

To apply, please use the online application form. You will be asked to fill the form, which includes a statement of interest (max 500 words). The call will close on Friday 16th of December 2022. If you have queries about the role, please contact the journal at: redazione.tecnoscienza@gmail.com.

Applications will be reviewed by the Editorial Board and selected applicants will be notified by early January 2023.
